Adriatic Coaching is the official training partner for Ironman 70.3 Slovenian Istria. Adriatic Coaching is one of the leading triathlon coaching companies in the Adriatic region with programs ranging from beginners in triathlon to age-group triathletes aspiring to qualify for the Ironman World Championships. Adriatic Coaching was also the official training partner for the Ironman 70.3 Croatia (Pula) race for 2015, 2016 and 2017 – for the three years the race was held in the Croatian part of Istria.

Since 2006, Ironman 70.3 race has been a modern psycho-physical challenge for the age-group athletes in both sexes and in different age categories. People who decide to finish Ironman 70.3 (including 1.9k swim, 90k bike and 21.1 k run) face many challenges that include how to find sufficient time for training and recovery in their busy schedule filled with demanding professional challenges and desire to spend quality family time; and finding the right sports equipment. Through several months of preparation, athletes are making positive changes, especially the emphasis is on the self-improvement, increased cardiovascular abilities and the reduction of body fat in the body.

“I have started racing Ironman series races since 2001, and my first IRONMAN 70.3 race was the one in 2007 in St Polten where I managed to achieve my PB for five consecutive years. I look at the IRONMAN 70.3 race as the unusual combination of “fast” race (similar to one found in Ironman 5150 or Olympic triathlon) and “endurance” (required to compete in full Ironman distance race). At the time, we have used Ironman 70.3 race as a preparation for the full Ironman distance races. However, now Ironman 70.3 has become an established and very popular discipline for both age-group and professional triathletes taking place in over 50 locations across the globe and its own World Championship for which over 70,000 age-group athletes are trying to qualify each year. Croatia has two female age-group representatives that already secured their spot at the World Championship in Ironman 70.3 taking place this year in Nice.” Dejan Patrcevic, Founder and Head Coach of Adriatic Coaching and Ironman 70.3 Slovenian Istria 2019 Ambassador.
